Trying to Jump Start Another Car

An easy way to get your car started if you think that the battery is dead is to jump-start it with jumper cables. You will also need a working car.

Connect the ends of the jumper cables to the battery terminals before either car is started up. The working car should be left on for at least 60 seconds to supply enough of a charge. Turn the engine of the other car on and be ready to give a few tries. If it does not work on the fourth try, your battery may be truly dead. At this point, you need to have it replaced with a new one so that you can start your car. If the car starts, avoid turning it off too soon because it will not have enough of a charge.

The service team at Nashua Kia can inspect and replace your car battery right away.
