Learning the Right Way to Replace a Flat Tire

Changing a flat tire is safer and easier when you follow this simple guide. Regardless of where you get a flat tire, ride the rim if needed to get out of the way of other motorists and to the shoulder. Use your lug wrench to slightly loosen all of the nuts on the tire that has gone flat. Now jack the vehicle off the ground so you have a few inches under the tire to the road.

Take off all the lugs now, then nudge the tire off the car without rocking the vehicle of it could slip off the jack. Place the spare on the tire bolts and secure with the nuts so the tire is straight. Lower the jack and once the tire touches the road, tighten all the lugs. Keep up with tire rotation appointments with Nashua KIA so we have eyes on the tire treads more frequently.
